This procedure deals with handling, storage, packing, preservation, and delivery of articles with an aim of avoiding:

1) Damage or deterioration in quality.
2) Mistake in identifying of destination.

Scope

The procedure is applicable to raw materials veneered items, sub-assemblies and final products.

Handling

Various raw materials, components, sub-assemblies and products are handled in such a way to ensure that damage or deterioration to the articles is avoided.

Storage

Articles in form of components, sub-assemblies and products are stored in such a way so as to prevent damage or deterioration due to mechanical causes, water and dust. A stock of components is maintained by using bin cards.

Packing & Dispatch

The finished products are packed separately in polythene bags and each polythene bag is sealed and packed in corrugated box. One batch of such products is packed in a case. The case is either corrugated or wooden, depending upon the mode of travel and distance of destination.

Following details are marked on each case:-

1) Name of consignee
2) Destination
3) Challan No.
4) Sender’s name and address

Records of dispatch is maintained
