Product design & development is the first activity in a Product. During designing a product it is ensured that all customer requirements are considered.
Scope
This procedure is applicable to product design & development.
Design Input
A market survey is conducted to identify the customer requirements. Product specifications are derived from the results of the market survey.
Design Review
A time bound action plan for product development is prepared & specific responsibilities are assigned. This plan is reviewed periodically to check the progress of various action.
Design Output
Design Output is in the form of prototype of the product.
Design Verification
The prototype is type tested for various parameters specified in relevant national/international standards.
Design Modification
Design Modification can be carried out based on customer requirements or feedback. If the design modification involves changes in Switching, the design is verified by the type testing.
Drawing Preparation
After design verification, standard drawing are prepared. All the drawings have the following fields:-
